All is Calm

Read the story All is Calm with the purpose of identifying conflict. Set up a chart in you note book that lists the four types of conflict and find at least one example of each type. Record the situation that causes the conflict along with words or phrases from the story that describe the situation. What type of conflict is developed most fully in the story?


  • What is the main conflict in this story?
  • How does Katie handle the situation? 
  • How is it similar or different from how you would have handled the situation?

  1. When Kevin a boy from school who is a class clown actually helps her out with her grandma.
    Kaity and her grandma go to the doctors office and her grandma forgets who she is and she cannot get her off the bus. She gets help from a boy from her school
    I would have tried to do the same thing the boy did.
